We don't mind if we spend some time discussing ideas over a cup of coffee or tea, or a meeting taking longer than usual. We don't need to meet just in the office. Meaningful discussions are enriching and important as they bring new and diverse ideas as well as awareness of what others are working on.
We all have experienced this - failure. It is a hard, but necessary part of the process of becoming a better person and professional. The key is to look at the failure as something you can learn from.
Diversity is natural for our group in many ways. There are people with diverse nationalities, religions, age, sex, approaches to work, ways of thinking. And we love it!
We work as a team - together towards our goals. Sometimes we experience healthy competition, but no rivalty; we offer and share ideas. It is important to communicate with others and respect their time.
Science is our product and we truly believe it should be shared with everyone. Scientific impact is more valuable than competition. That's why we are active and we publish our work.
It is not just a phrase. There is always somebody to support you and recognize you. You can say what you think even when you don't agree. But we don't forget to respect each other - as colleagues and individuals. We also enjoy grabbing a beer or partying together. Working in our group is much more than going to the office and back home.
